The Lake (a not so children's story)
A long time ago a meteor struck the earth creating a gaping hole. Over the years that hole was filled by the treacherous and constant rains that poured from the Clouds. One day, after many, many days of rain, the Sun came up and started to shine her beams down to the earth. Once the Sun's rays hit the Lake, like a mirror he shined her beams back to her and together they shared in the warmth of the glorious light. The Lake was warm and shiny and full. The Sun was large and bright and satisfied. The Sun so loved the Lake and the reflection she received back from him that she continued to shine and shine and shine. The Sun, with all of her might, pushed away the Clouds that wanted to bring the rain, just so that she could have the opportunity to shine her light on the Lake again each and every day. However, every day that the Sun shined, the water from the Lake evaporated a little bit. Until finally the only water that was left of the Lake was the water that had hidden him...
